Notes on a Website
I’ve worked on many great projects, but also some terrible ones. In an attempt to understand what makes a good or bad project I started writing lists. These lists have evolved into Notes on a Website, a guide for clients, designers, developers or anyone interested in creating websites.

L’Oiseau Montagnard
Launched:
A beautifully appointed 3-bedroom apartment in the heart of Ax-les-Thermes, offering year-round access to skiing, thermal spas, and outdoor adventure. I designed and developed the site using WordPress Multisite with multilingual support and a central booking calendar—creating a seamless experience for both English, French and Spanish-speaking guests. Launched in 2016, the site continues to attract visitors to this charming Pyrenean retreat.

A contemporary coastal home set on a pebble beach with sweeping views across Loch Ewe. Originally launched in 2004, the site was fully updated in 2016 with a responsive WordPress build and new client-supplied photography.

I supported the site with real-time tracking integration and technical assistance during Kate’s solo cycling expedition through South America—ensuring updates and progress were reliably shared with a growing audience. A powerful project combining movement, storytelling, and impact.

Chris Cairns is a political cartoonist and author living in Edinburgh. He once almost knocked Fidel Castro to the ground and has never had a hole-in-one in his life. He also likes to talk about himself in the third person.
